You run a tavern in a town, or even a city. Patrons visit your establishment where you may or may not be present, and eat, drink, or talk. It is a constant source of income for you. Whether you are aware of it or not, your business is a vital meeting place for all sorts of people in your area. Depending on the nature of your establishment, it may even have paid lodgings or other services.

1 | Bar (modest) |
2 | Pub (modest) |
3 | Tavern (comfortable) |
4 | Inn (comfortable) |
5 | Lodge (comfortable) |
6 | Hotel (wealthy) |
7 | Brothel (wealthy) |

The titular tavern that you own is a constant source of income for you. At your GM's discretion, if you have a means of collecting the money from your tavern, you maybe gain a certain amount of GP according to the number of days it has been since you've last been to your tavern. If your tavern is unstaffed or closed while you are away, you do not gain extra income for those days. It is entirely up to your DM what factors apply to your tavern, and how much money it makes in a given day. As a suggestion for shorthand income calculation, a tavern could be suggested to make an amount of GP equal to the income level associated with it. For example, a hotel (wealthy) might generate 4 GP or more for every day it is open.
