When encountering a creature, roll and Intelligence check in order to determine whether you are familiar with the creature as a result of your research. The DC for this check is at the discretion of the DM based on your level and/or experience and the difficulty of the encounter. On a success, roll a 1d6 from the Research Remembered table.
Suggested Characteristics
Like any Sage, Monster Researchers are book smart, and have spent a good part of their time in libraries and with scrolls, learning all there is to know. But monsters won't be found solely in the imaginations - which is why sages are as outgoing as they are introverted. Primary resources and firsthand experience are paramount, so Monster Researchers tend to be brave and social to get the right information.
