Husk Image

Husks are simple folk, that being the complexity was drained out of them, mentally, or magically. Some were whipped into shape by their drill sergeants a little too hard, some were hypnotized, some simply had their conscious stolen, and others had their whole identity taken from them by a mad wizard wanting to blend into their surroundings. Whatever the cause, Husks do not recognize many if any of their memories of their life before a couple months or years ago. However, Husks have the most capability of any background. Even if they don't get fancy tool proficiencies or languages other than common, all husks have a magical reminder of their past life.

Skill Proficiencies: The one thing that the brains of husks can remember is the physical or mental training of their past. Husks gain proficiency in either Athletics, Acrobatics, Insight and or Perception. They get 2 skills of their choice.
Tool Proficiencies: Husks do not remember any usage of tools throughout their life and gain no tool proficiencies. This is why you don't see many Husk Bards or Artificers.
Languages: Husks can only remember the common tongue and any native language they have. Any other additional languages are forgotten. This includes thieves cant and Druidic.
Equipment: Husks are left stranded in common clothes, usually in the middle of a desolate place or large city. They get an adventuring pack, common clothes, a belt pouch with 5 GP in it, and an uncommon wondrous item of their choice. This wondrous item must remind them of their past, but not enough to bring back any significant memories.
