Slave Image

You used to be a slave living under squalid conditions. While this has taught you some useful handicraft, it has also shaped your perception of the world as a hostile and unfair one. You are used to doing extreme physical chores, day after day, with no reward. You can push your body to limits that most people haven't even dreamed of, and you probably have scars and mental trauma to show for it.

Sometime during your enslavement, you managed to find your way to freedom. Maybe your freedom was granted to you by your previous master, or you could have gotten it by means of a stealthy escape or violent rebellion. Whichever way you gained your freedom, you intend to keep it. There are many things you want to accomplish in life, and none of them involve being someone else's puppet.

You start your adventuring career with food and equipment that will enable you to survive on your own. This equipment may have belonged to your previous master once, or you might have acquired it after your life in slavery. What are your intentions with your newfound freedom? Do you intend to enjoy the most of it, or do you have unfinished business with your former slaver?

Suggested Characteristics

Slaves are shaped by lives of hardship or abuse. While some select few slaves might have lived in luxury, most of them have lived under physical conditions that other people haven't even dreamed of.

Freed slaves are as varied as they are many. While some slaves wish to never look back on their past life in misery, others seek a furious vengeance for how they were treated in the past.
