Witcher - Guild Of The Dragon Image

As an orphan, you have spent your childhood and youth in the service of a Guild, trained to become skilled in killing monsters, proficient arcane wielder, and equally professional hunter. The Guild of the Dragon's training peaks with the Trial of Taming, in which the whole Guild attempts to capture and tame a Dragon to better understand their nature. Very few trainees survive this stage of the training and those who do become members and are awarded magically imbued medallions as an insignia of the Guild.

You act as a specialist for hire, lending a hand for anyone who requires the expertise in solving unusual problems. You are neither a soldier nor a scholar but you benefit from expertise in both combat and knowledge of the arcane as well as nature.

When you choose this background, work with your DM to establish the possible limitations of the medallion, the extent of the content of the bestiary book, the knowledge of the world, and the lands you traveled to before.

To be Feared and Respected

You are a monster specialist for hire, you deal with unusual problems that require either expertise or combat experience to resolve.
Due to years of training, combat and always being on the road, the apparel of a witcher often bears marks of grievous wounds or bodily mutations that enhance their abilities. These aspects make them seen as freaks. Adding into consideration the nature of their trade, most of the time people avoid having contact with them but also respect them out of fear.  Despite the negative views people never fail to seek their help especially since they deal with problems no one else knows how or wants to. Blacksmiths knowing their needs, sometimes offer to trade with them items that are out of the ordinary.
Being a skillful weapon master and keenly focused arcane caster alongside the experience of years of fighting monsters, you are the necessary solution the world needs and fear for their most terrifying problems.
The Amulet of the Dragon Guild

A silver amulet in the shape of a dragon's head with ruby eyes. The amulet hums and its eyes glow when in proximity (10ft) from a magical place or item.

Suggested Characteristics

Witchers are shaped by their experience within the Guild and first-hand combat around the world. Their study of the arcane, and the misuse of magic, as well as the Naural Order, affect their mannerisms and ideals. Their flaws are usually related to their time spent away from civilization, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.
