You've either grown up around a forge and metals or have spent many years as an apprentice to a Blacksmith. You're not a master at your trade, but you strive to be. Your passion is turning metal into items with a purpose, be it armor, weapons, or tools. You know how a weapon should feel, how a shield should deflect a blow or arrow, and you know how to make a set of armor that works with its wearer, not just protects them. This is your passion. You are a Blacksmith.
- Skill Proficiencies: Perception, and one other skill of your choice that you are not already proficient in.
- Tool Proficiencies: Smith's Tools
- Languages: One of your choice.
- Equipment: A set of smith's tools with which you are proficient, a forge stamp with your symbol or the symbol of the mentor you learned your skill from, a set of traveler’s clothes, and a pouch containing 5 gp and a handbook of basic metalurgy combinations (worth 5 sp.)
The smell of a forge, the rough callouses from using tools to mold and work metal into useable objects, these are traits unmistakable to those in the trade - a blacksmith knows a fellow blacksmith. This bond and level of respect have their perks when a blacksmith takes to adventuring. As a blacksmith, you have the ability to barter for supplies (down to half price at most) required for smithing - be them tools, metal, leather for straps and handles, or some other material required for making and finishing a metal creation. Additionally, blacksmiths in towns and civilizations that are not openly hostile to you and your party are willing to lend you the use of their forge and tools at said forge should you need or request it.
