Revenge-Bound Haunted Sage Image

You were once a teacher at your monastery/scriptorium, but a demon/mob attacked your home while you were away, killing everyone there, including your students. Fueled by rage and anguish, you are now on a mission to destroy those who killed your people, while also trying to discover why. The faces and voices of those who died haunt you, as you know you could have saved them, finding you in nightmares and hallucinations, making you believe that a stranger you see is one of those who you know died, but they never are...

Skill Proficiencies: You can take two skill proficiencies from the sage background.
Languages: You can take one common language and one exotic language.
Equipment: You have a memento from your scriptorium/monastery, this could be a scroll, a tablet, an engraved coin, or something one of you fellows/students made for you. It is very dear to you, and you prize it most of all, keeping it close to you at all times, never in a backpack. If an NPC or PC tries to steal it from you, you have double advantage on saving rolls, this means that you get to roll 3 times, and take the highest if the attempted thief does not impose disadvantage, or if you would have disadvantage due to another reason, or if you would normally have disadvantage, it evens out to a normal roll contest, of your perception vs the thief's roll. If the item is still stolen, you would do anything and everything in your power to get it back, as that and whatever was on your back, is all you have left of your previous life.
