On the edges of ravaged battle ground, a solitary warforge scout is slowing crawling out of the chaos, the lone survivor of fierce combat. His survival was not expected, but Scout #505 has always exceeded expectation of his handlers. They thought he had a bit of something special that allowed his to adapt and overcome, however that spark will soon to be put to the test. His diagnostics array wildly alerting several alarms, mechanical fluids are leaking, gears damaged, however, the most frightful alarm is the magical battery is leaking badly. #505 realizes he is about to expire. He props himself up against the base of a large tree to see the sun set as a final oddly human act.
His actions jar the tree. A squirrel appears, hiding in his nest during the fight. With the forest quiet now there are so many smells to investigate. His curiosity getting the best of him, he slowly approaches the static metal being. The perch of the motionless automaton’s shoulder should act as a perfect look out point to observe any danger. Looking into the metallic face he sees a curious light fading in the deep pocket of the eyes. Suddenly a whirlwild of brightness, enchantment and fur take place. Magic fills the defenseless animal, #505 stares at the animal, seemingly praying for the animal help him. The squirrel is unable to move as his head fills with repair manuals, mechanical blueprints. Combat instructions flow into his small frail body to the point where he thinks his head may explode.
A new dawn always brings a fresh perspective to the woods. The small squirrel wakes up not sure what happened, however looking up he realizes that Scout Unit #505’s mandibular strut screws #3A and #3B are damaged and he could easily repair it with the nearby powered down Juggernaut Unit #42’s axillary spares. He realizes that he can make all the necessary repairs to Scout Unit #505…… and even some modifications...
Think Gadget from rescue rangers finds an iron man suit. This leans heavily toward artificer, but you can modify as needed.
- Skill Proficiencies: Due the nature of your situation your intelligence is higher than an average squirrel.
Skill Proficiencies: Nature - Your Intelligence check measures your ability to recall lore about terrain, plants and animals, the weather, and natural cycles.
Skill Proficiencies: Perception - Your Wisdom check lets you spot, hear, or otherwise detect the presence of something. It measures your general awareness of your surroundings and the keenness of your senses.
STR of the warforge or DEX of the Squirrel Makes sense also
Skill Proficiencies: Athletics or Acrobatics
WIS with animal handling is a good thought but I was thinking a squirrel trying that might backfire, but good story telling. - Tool Proficiencies: Tool Proficiencies:
Tinker's Tools, Smith's Tools, Thieves' Tools - Comes with the artificer/Armorer
Alchemist's Supplies, Herbalism Kit, - Languages: You can understand Common very well but ca't speak it very well
But you understand mechanics - Equipment: Hidden Warforged Arm Blade
Warforged Light Crossbow
While all Engineers and Artificers are well versed in the ways of practical constructions, some gravitate towards theoretical design or research, choosing to design or study the designs of others, and pass them on to be implemented into your designs.
You personally have reassembled your warforge from the ground up and know every screw and spring. You also have an innate mind for the intricacies of design, and often make your mark (and coin) selling the plans to your devices to those looking to make their mark and fortune manufacturing new items.
You choose to operate independently, since you don’t want your secret known, meaning your work is basically unknown but you have freedom to direct your own research. You only work in someone else’s workshop under the direst of circumstances. You have the freedom to pursue your own designs, other than in your off-time.
Your special condition and time spent researching has given you an insight into other avenues of study, prototypes and experimental
