You solved crimes as a police inspector or took jobs for wealthy clients as a private investigator. You might have become an adventurer as part of your next big mystery, but likely it was due to the consequences or aftermath of a prior case.

When solving a mystery, you can remember key clues that you have discovered within the past month. This does not tell you the answer to the mystery out right but gives you the important clues to solving the mystery that you have already learned. This information can be given to you by the Dm in simple phrases such as “you found [item] lying [here]” or “[character] was doing [this at the time]” and so on. Thus, potentially weeding out information that is insignificant to the mystery.
Suggested Characteristics
Detectives are methodical leaving no stone unturned. They notice little details and often won't let mysteries go unsolved. Solving puzzles, discovering truths, and unraveling mysteries are what keep the detective going. Other individuals could be just plain paranoid and suspicious of everything. In either case it always seems there is something more to an event than just coincidence and you are the only one that can solve it.
