Inner-Ring Aristocrat Image

A particularly indolent breed of Terraviran nobility, the highborn elite of the the world-city's inner rings are used to lives of matchless ease and leisure.  There's little to want for that's not provided to them, either by the Council, the city itself, or the desperate outer-ring immigrants who pledge their fealty and servitude to the Great Families for a chance to live among austerity.  As a result, the life of an inner-ring aristocrat is an almost entirely social one.  Navigating extravagant dinners; blithely floating from one torrid, superficial romance to another; manipulating one's friends and rivals; and jockeying for status, notoriety, or even infamy are typically the mainstays of life among these prestigious social circles.  When a person of this background leaves the mind-boggling comfort of their surroundings, it's usually a short-lived affair-- a flight of fancy, born of boredom and swiftly dashed by the unexpected harshness of the reality that exists beyond the ostentatious first few of the world-city's rings.  Every once in a great while, however, a person of this background has the tenacity, the influence, the sheer buying power or (gods forbid) the skill to make it as an adventurer outside the insular paradise of their home districts.

Suggested Characteristics

Aristocrats of Terravire's inner rings are used to the best of all things, and of getting what they want from anyone they deem (or have been taught to deem) as 'beneath' them.  They are often mercurial, dramatic, emotional people; frequently haughty, rarely humble, and, almost without exception, very sheltered from the realities of what life is like in the vast majority of the world-city's districts.  They're not all selfish and vapid, but even the kindest and most beneficent among them still tend to act with the unconscious ignorance of lifelong privilege.
