The Blade Inheritor Image

You were born as an average person who led an average life. But at some point you found yourself in a strange situation that turned your simple life upside down. Reaching for a weapon in your family home, one you were told not to touch, you rush into battle hoping to help. After the battle you have a fever dream with a vision of the previous wielder of the blade (could be a family member, stranger, a known hero or villian) being killed in some way; you also make a deal to inherit the power that comes with the blade though you don't remember the details. 

 
Skill Proficiencies: You still have memories of your simple life, but your new abilities come with foreign knowledge of how to wield them. You gain proficiency in Arcana as well as one skill of your choosing.
Tool Proficiencies:  In your simple life you had to work with your hands to make ends meet. Perhaps it was the family trade or a new business. Or perhaps even you lived a more lavish life off of your families gold and spent your days idly. You are proficient with one tool or game set of your choice.
Languages: The knowledge that has been bestowed upon you comes with the innate knowledge of a language not spoken by mortal tongue. Choose one language out of Infernal, Abyssal, Celestial, Sylvan, or Primordial.
Equipment: Depending on who the last wielder of the blade is depends on what you get. Discuss with dm on further details.
Basic equipment: pouch with 20gp, memento from your hometown, a black bladed weapon (dagger, shortsword, long sword etc).

Discuss with dm on what these would entail, it may also help with writing your backstory.
Family member: you inherit all of their belongings via a will. 
Known hero: If certain npcs recognise the blade, they may give you certain basic equipment the known hero had used to start your journey. 
Known Villian: If certain npcs recognise the blade, they may give you extra gold to have protection from your wrath.
Stranger: no extra equipment is gained.
 
Feature: Focused Fighter

While in battle your mind becomes focused on battle. You are more prone to go for the kill, and wish to subjugate your enemies. You are less likely to be charmed or fear stricken.

You have advantage on charm and fear checks in the middle of battle.
You have to make a roll when going for non-lethal blows.
- Roll a d20:
         - 1-10 lethal blow
         -11-15 flip a coin: heads leathal blow, tails non-lethal blow
         -16-20 non lethal blow

If you choose to intimidate your enemies, you must choose to intimidate multiple turns in a row.
e.g. 1st time enemy may be unnerved, 2nd time enemy is unnerved dm choice if you roll intimidation, 3rd time enemy is scared and you have advantage on intimidation rolls.
If you focus on one enemy, then switch to another to intimidate while the first is alive you break the chain and must reintimidate the first enemy.
