You grew up in a wild tribe, far from modern civilization. You grew up in nature, maybe atop a mountain range, in a deep wood, or living on the borders of the feywild. The comforts and technology of civilization are unknown to you, and you may look at them for the first time in wonder, or with wariness. Living so remote means you had to rely on yourself and your tribe members to get by, hunting, gathering, or finding ways to pass the time. You may see newcomers as suspicious and dangerous, or be naively trusting of strangers, depending on the atmosphere of your tribe. Being humanoids in such an animal world, you've had to get by knowing when to fight back, when to run, and when to hide. How did you discover civilization? Did it come to you, or did you wander too far from home? Did you seek out to leave your tribe? Are you wary of this strange new world, or excited to learn about all the new things around you?
- Skill Proficiencies: Survival, and one between Athletics, Nature, or Stealth.
- Languages: One exotic language of your choice.
- Equipment: A set of travelers clothes, a wood carving or other craftmanship of your tribe, a belt pouch containing 10gp, and one instrument of your choice.
Feature: Highly Alert
You've lived your life needing to survive, looking for cues in the world around you for any sign of danger. In doing so you've come to be able to know when something isn't right. This skill comes in the form of a feeling you get when you are in a situation that may be more dangerous than normal (e.g. When you're being led to an ambush, or being hunted by a mountain lion in the woods.). This feeling does not reveal any details, just that something is wrong.
