You were sent to live with a family that was not your own, whether to learn a trade, make a political alliance, or escape a terrible tragedy.

 
Skill Proficiencies: You are proficient with Insight and Perception
Tool Proficiencies: You are proficient with one set of tools of your choice.
Languages: You are proficient with the native language of the family you were sent to (see table below)
Equipment: A bedroll and blanket, a waterskin, one trinket of special significance to your birth family.  Also gain a set of set of common clothes and 5 gp.

For one reason or another, you were sent to live with a race that was not your own. Choose a race or roll one randomly on the table.  (If you get your own race, roll again.)

Feature: Cultural Chameleon

Growing up in a culture that wasn’t your own gave you the ability to assimilate the customs of others quickly. Whenever visiting a place in which the predominant culture is not your own, you can easily ascertain local customs and traditions to keep you and your companions from any missteps.
