You are an agent of the Dolen Hâdir, the Hidden Hand, a secret elven operative deployed within a foreign court in the realms of men. You have one principal mission: to twist, manipulate and influence the decisions and affairs of men to ensure that humans avoid expansion into Elven territory, and never discover the existence of Elven society. You are intimately familiar with the games of backroom politics and court intrigue, and are a silver-tongued master of deception - a necessity in your line of work having to carefully walk the precarious line between remaining influential and relevant whilst maintaining the charade of being human.
- Skill Proficiencies: Deception, Stealth
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of gaming set, thieves’ tools
- Equipment: A signet ring, a set of dark common clothes including a hood, and a purse containing 25 gp
After decades of intensive training and study to become a Dolen Hâdir, you have become a master of subterfuge and disguise, and have learned to manipulate your form through elven magic to adopt the appearance and physicality of a human counterpart.
To mark your rank as a Hidden Hand, and your ability to change form, you have a tattoo of a raised hand. This is not visible while in human form.
Way of the Hand. As an action, you can change your appearance, physicality and voice to resemble a human individual. You may only have one human form, and you cannot change your human appearance. While taking your human form, none of your game statistics change. Your clothing and equipment are not changed as part of this feature. You maintain your human form until you use an action to revert to your true elven form or until you die.
Suggested Characteristics
The Dolen Hâdir are ruthless masters of deception and subterfuge, who are trained and accustomed to working solo and alone. It is said that by learning to take a human form through the way of the hand, an agent can lose touch with their elven side. Often this can result in agents becoming little more than the emotionless tools of their elven handlers with little to no regard for life, human or otherwise. Though there are a select few that are rumoured to have instead adopted certain human traits and desires and incorporated them into their own being - making them risky if not especially convincing and effective operatives.
