Combat Professional Image

As a combat professional you have been everything from a soldier to mercenary, and a bodyguard to an assassin, a bounty hunter, and even gladiator anything that involved fighting and getting paid. These days war and money are your games, and the two were never far from each other. this lifestyle as made you a formidable foe be it land or sea, on beast or foot, corridor or open field, guerrilla tactics or rank and file, sword and shield or barehanded you are a force to be reckoned with. 

If you found steady employment in one location life was tolerable, but more often then not, you and your companions found yourselves in strange lands and dangerous wildernesses. As you made your way through battles and conflict and those around you have helped train you in many forms of combat. 

When you choose this background, work with your DM to determine which military organization('s) you were a part of, how far through its ranks you progressed, and what kind of experiences you had during your military career. As well as what line of work you are currently in at the start of the campaign.

Equipment: A set of travelers clothes, you final pay, mess kit, a game set of your choice, mercenary company armor, a knife, and an unopened letter from your mercenary company or a set of discharge papers
 
Feature: Preceding Reputation

No matter where you go, people have heard of your fights or the company you have been in. They know of your/its deeds (and misdeeds) and always react in accordance. When you go into towns there are always people willing to overlook minor criminal offenses, whether for the sake of your good name or in fear of your infamy.

Life in the service of money for violence can do many things to a man. Some break and become bloodthirsty warmongers or money-hungry cowards, some fall to the lowest forms of self-hate for the acts they have done, and yet others throw away all inhibitions and become champions of the righteous.
