Once, perhaps not too long ago, you served alongside your fellow neophytes. You worshipped a dark creature or eldritch god, performed sacraments, and adorned yourself with the suitable tattoos or ceremonial scars. You basked in this dark glory with your fellows, feeling the clarity of purpose that comes with service to a higher power.

You may still serve your cult, or you left them behind in your search for other things. In either case, you have been marked by your connection to dark cults.

 
Skill Proficiencies: Deception, Choose one from among Arcana, Investigation, Religion, or Survival
Tool Proficiencies: A tool proficiency 
Languages: Choose one of which is exotic. (Abyssal, Celestial, Deep Speech, Draconic, Infernal, Primordial, Sylvan, or Undercommon)
Equipment: A holy symbol of your dark god, 10 sticks of incense, [Tooltip Not Found], a poisoners kit, and a pouch containing 5 gp.
 
Feature: Cult network

You know the locations of your cult’s safehouses, shrines, and sanctums in many settlements and wilderness areas. In such a network, you can find at least one loyal member of the cult, who can provide food and a safe place to rest for you and up to six people that you vouch for. Large cities always have a safehouse, while smaller settlements are 50% likely to have one. Remote wilderness areas have one safehouse in any 100-square-mile area. If you have left the cult, you can use the safehouse, drawing attention from the cult only 50% of the time.

 
Suggested Characteristics

Cultist are shaped by their experience in life. They are trained and taught in the ways of the deception and tenets of their faith. Their flaws might be some hidden hypocrisy or heretical idea, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.
