This is a first draft and should be viewed with caution.
You are a Steel Dragon that has polimorphed into a humanoid guise. As such you do not remember any information about your previous life experience aside from the knowledge that you are in fact a dragon and some general knowledge you should have as a dragon. Before you choose your guise you used an ability called Age Link to learn about the current situation of the world in order to determine your goal for your new life this is how you are aware of current developments and other things but since this ability can only be used before the start of a new life you are unable to actively use it(As this ability was used before the start of this guises life you are not aware of the source of this information ore more accurately speaking of the people that contributed this knowledge).
- Skill Proficiencies: History
This skill is a result of your Age Link ability.
Additionally choose one of the following:
This ability is an application of your dragon aura that you shaped to suit your profession.
- Tool Proficiencies: None
- Languages: Draconic, a language of your choice.
- Equipment: A bottle of black ink, a quill, a small knife, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp
Maybe some unknown item from a previous life.
To determine the goal the dragon tries to achieve either role a d8 or choose from the table below. Also note that a Steel Dragon that tries to become an evil character might try to achieve this in the Form of a mastermind that pulls the strings in the shadows or an incognito owner of some bandit group/shady organization. An other interesting aspect is that Steel Dragons will try to gain their wealth in the Form of property or artworks.
d8 | Goal |
---|---|
1 | Be a Hero |
2 | Become a renowned researcher |
3 | Become a king |
4 | Life a 'normal' life |
5 | Create as much problems for people with to much authority as possible. |
6 | Have as much fun as possible. |
7 | Be a villain. |
8 | Become unnecessarily wealthy. |
Most common detection methods that are meant to detect dragons will not work while you are polimorphed.
While Steel Dragons are technically able to use their dragon abilities while polimorphed this will rarely happen since the dragon would reveal a flaw in his guise which might reveal himself as a dragon. But even so the guise gains some lifesaving ability in line with its race and profession, but in order to do so you might also need to sacrifice some abilities or talents of your guises race/profession(The exact procedure will need to be clarified with your DM).
Suggested Characteristics
Because of their tendency to remove their memory after their guise dies Steel Dragons temperaments can vary widely the only thing all Steel Dragons have in common is their dislike for authority. While this does not mean that they will act against all forms of authority they will most definitely act against enviroments that are to restrictive this might not happen in direct confrontations but a Steel Dragon is almost guaranteed to do something detrimental to the supporters of such environments including but not limited to other dragons such as gold dragons. It is not uncommon for a Steel Dragon to treat their guises home as a kind of lair where he stores art and maybe humanoids in the form of butlers or other positions.
