For whatever reason, you have not been welcomed in normal society. It could be for ancestral, aesthetic, religious, or other discriminatory reasons. Or maybe you just really don't fit in. Because of this, you have had to learn to be resourceful and self-sufficient. While it is possible that you could overcome your past and forge a new beginning elsewhere, it is likely not that easy a thing to shake, partly because you carry the scars that make it clear you expect the worst of society and have witnessed it firsthand. You also have a survivor's edge that can be frightening to people whose life isn't in danger regularly.

Skill Proficiencies: Survival, Medicine
Tool Proficiencies: any two appropriate toolkits
Equipment: A small knife, a map of the area you grew up in, a pet mouse, a token to remember your parents by, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp

Feature: Shunned by Society

No matter where you go, people are afraid of you due to your differences and demeanor. When you are in a civilized settlement, you can get away with minor criminal offenses, such as refusing to pay for food at a tavern or breaking down doors at a local shop, since most people will not report your activity to the authorities. People are unlikely to helpful, however, and may even be uncooperative, if they dare.
