Church Orphan

You grew up in an orphanage run by a church and were put under their care. This could have been from being stolen, sold, lost and found, switched at birth, or maybe your parent/s even died from childbirth or war. Whatever the reason you are in, you now have the oppertunity to make your own family or hopefully be adopted.

Give a lot of thought to what makes you a unique orphan What kind of a harsh life did you endure on the streets? Were you way too old to be adopted, and it was pure luck and grace some kind-hearted person took you in? Have you bounced around from orphanage to orphanage and built yourself a reputation as trouble child, still able to be adopted miraculously? Were you a victim of domestic abuse and a great fight broke out over adopting you? Are your birth parents even still alive? Did you maybe see them perish before your eyes or see them leave you as a helpless vagabond?

After you have your past figured out, think about how you interact with your current family on a deeper level or how you have grown within the church. Do you commonly feel out of place with them, usually preferring to spend time away from any foster siblings you may have? Do you rarely tell your foster parents of your problems and sneak around the house, unable to feel at home? Or do you act normal and accept it, and care for those around you instead?

Tool Proficiencies: After working hard within the churches libaries at a young age copying texts from divine tomes, you gain profienceny in Calligrapher's Supplies.

Languages: Languages: You know the language spoken by your adoptive family or church house. Being taught common literature, studying divine texts and learning from others in the orphanage, you gain Common, and Celestial and one other language of your choice.

Equipment: Equipment: A set of common clothes matching the style worn by your current family, something of a trinket left from your birth parents (cannot be worth more than 5gp) and pouch with 10gp
