You have always had a way with animals, and use this in your work to train, keep and maintain horses. Whether for the military keeping warhorses, a town stable housing travellers and local horses, or a nobles private stable of prized stallions, you know your way around all things equine.
When you choose this background, decide what led you to stray from the life of a simple stable hand. Were you drawn to the adventurer's lifestyle after crossing paths with adventurers stopping at your stable? Were you forced to leave your work due to conflict, or simply being fired or replaced? Perhaps you were you an apprentice looking to make your own way in the world, or a grizzled master of your stables looking for a new life?

- Equipment: A belt pouch containing 10gp, a set of Common Clothes, a bag of animal feed, a partway finished set of horse tack you've been working on.
Striking up a conversation with a stable owner, you are able to borrow a mount for a short period, free of charge. If the stable owner is friendly, you may also be able to purchase one at a discounted rate, as well as any tools, tackle, or feed for your mount.
Once you have bonded with a mount and traveled with it for a few days, you are able to easily control it while riding and give it basic commands that it will follow without needing to make an Animal Handling roll. For example; "walk-on", "stay", "go there", "run", etc.
Suggested Characteristics
A horse master tends to have a strong bond with their mount, and can be more used to the company of animals then other people. They tend to be hard workers, and are no stranger to hard work and long hours doing physical work or travelling.
