Eoni Image

A very small population of Elves in the East are born as an Eoni. The child in the womb is visited by an entity of the Shadowfell, and forced to make a pact with it. Upon the pact being completed, the child is cursed. This curse reveals itself at the child's 8th name-day, as the child physically morphs into that of a devilish creature, an Oni. These Elves are outcast from their society, and seen as cursed abominations. Throughout the centuries, these Elves have come to be known as Eoni; half Elf, half Oni.

Whatever this entity is, that you made a deal with, it can’t be slain with a sword or banished with a spell. Visions of it might come to you as a shadow on the wall, a bloodcurdling nightmare, a memory that refuses to die, or a demonic whisper in the dark. The burden has taken its toll, isolating you from most people and making you question your sanity. You must find a way to overcome it before it destroys you.

Having to fend for yourself from an early age, you have become a traveler. You’ve witnessed the migration of herds larger than forests, survived weather more extreme than any city-dweller could comprehend, and enjoyed the solitude of being the only thinking creature for miles in any direction. The wilds are in your blood and even in places where you don’t know the specific features of the terrain, you know the ways of the wild.
