Every acolyte is a servant of some god. But you serve Morpheus, a being that you believe transcends godhood, as one of the seven endless. No mere priest, you are a protectorate of the Dreaming. Whether serving as a traditional Guardian, a Hunter, or Balladeer, you act as an intermediary between the realm of Morpheus and the waking world. Performing sacred rites, channeling the power of dreams, and defending the great dreamers of the world and the Dreaming itself from the insidious occultists that seek to imprison Morpheus once more.

Morpheus has granted you a small unkillable familiar which you can communicate with and use to watch over you. You may select the form of a beast that has a challenge rating of 0. They can perform other mundane tasks (up to the discretion of the DM) like carrying messages to friendly parties.

Variant Dreamguard: Hunter or Balladeer

The Hunter- the dark and brooding type, actively seeking out the things that go “bump in the night” to prevent them from waking the great dreamers or piercing the veil to the Dreaming itself.

The Balladeer- The bard type who uses the power of story and song to sooth the suffering soul and restless sleeper.

Variant Feature: Dream Sight

All those who have pierced the veil come back with an innate understanding of dreams and a gift for interpreting them. If anyone tells you their dream, you can roll an insight check to see if you can suss out any portents or signs from that dream.  More often than not, they are just the jumbled memories and senses from the day before. But sometimes...sometimes they're not.
