After a fairly simple upbringing, you left your village and went out in search of a purpose for your life. Along the way, you learned several skills you used to earn money while on the road. And in doing so, you accidently drew the eye of one of the archfey. Beings of magic that live in the Feywilds. Archfey are fey that gained prominence through their power, persuasions, or other means. Eventually, this being met you in person and introduced themselves. They had a proposition for you. If you would work as their servant on this plane, spreading their power and influence, they would in turn give you certain abilities to aid you on your journeys. This particular fey is a being of Fate. They gain power by bringing the events of the future to pass. Events that some would call fate or destiny.
This being would grant you the ability to craft items infused with their power to give to those that they command. These can take many forms, primarily determined by what they player chooses as their abilities. If you agree to their deal, you craft and sell these items to those that the fey deems worthy. The price of said items and who to give them to is given to you in dreams while you rest. In most cases, the price is such that they can be afforded by those that the fey tells you to give them to. In return, the fey will use his powers to help prevent negative fates from manifesting for you. the stronger you get and the more items of fate you distribute, the more the fey is able to impact your life.
- Skill Proficiencies: Deception, Persuasion
- Tool Proficiencies: 3 proficiencies of your choice of carpenter's tools/ glassblower's tools/ leather worker's tools/ mason's tools/ potter's tools/ smith's tools/ or tinkerer's tools
- Languages: Sylvan and one more of your choice
- Equipment: An amulet (a symbol of fey you work for which you use to create you items of fate), 2 sets of tools of your choosing, 3 already made items of fate, supplies to make 4 more items of fate(actual materials depending on proficiencies and tools chosen), vestments(corresponding to the symbols of the Archfey), a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp.
Being fey bound, the longer you work for your fey master, the more impact he is able to have in your life. At level one, twice per day, before knowing the result of a roll, you can choose to reroll an d20 and must use the new roll. These rolls reset at dawn and you must take a long or short rest for them to reset. At 4th, 10th, and 16th level, you gain two additional rolls per day. Additionally, at level 6, you gain the ability to make items of fate for your party members that you have some control over the impact. You can make multiple items for them but they can only carry one at a time. These items cannot impact you. At the beginning of the day, the DM rolls a d20, If its even, the item has a good impact, if its odd, the item has a bad impact. Once determined, the effect lasts for 24 hours and cannot be removed by less than fey or more powerful means. At first, an even roll adds 1 to all checks and saving throws made that day. An odd roll subtracts 1 from all checks and saving throws made that day. At level 10, your connection to fate increases and the benefits/disadvantages of these items on your party members increases to +/- 3. At level 14 it increases again to +/- 5 to all checks and saving throws made that day. At level 16 you gain the ability to remove the effect of an item on up to 2 of your party members for the next 24 hours.
