Your medical experience is always in demand. In towns and cities, military encampments, remote lodges, and other gatherings of people, you can usually find work administering aid to those who need it. This work keeps you fed and clothed, in a manner reflecting the wealth of your patients. It is also an excellent way of getting to know the locals and the area.
Suggested Characteristics
Use the tables for the guild artisan background as the basis for your traits and motivations, modifying the entries when appropriate to suit your identity.
You have medical knowledge... or so it seems. You lack real medical training, and most of your knowledge of medicine comes from hearsay and superstition.
If you choose the quack variant, your proficiency in the Medicine skill is replaced with proficiency in the Deception skill, and you can choose any tool instead of an herbalism kit to be proficient with.
Even though you lack medicinal ability, you can still find work treating those who cannot see through your deception. If you are found to be a fraud, you may be in danger of retaliation from patients and their loved ones.
