You're a new member of Captain Bronx's Steelscales, a group of traveling knights and mercenaries who aren't afraid of hacking your way through enemies. Your life is devoted to fights and the thrill of battle.

You can requisition simple equipment for temporary use, and you can gain free shelter in the areas around Scaletop and the Xen Desert, where you can rest in safety and receive the attention of medics. You are also paid a salary of 1 gp per week (received at the home base in Scaletop), which (combined with free lodging in your garrison) enables you to maintain a poor lifestyle between adventures.

The Steelscales is a zealous yet honorable army formed by the great Captain Bronx and is full of righteous energy tempered with mercenary discipline. Its members share its leadership’s devotion to the ideals of justice, or they find satisfaction in the more warfare-oriented aspects of the legion’s work. Where the Coalition is more of a city guard and policing force, the Steelscales are who you call to take care of the monsters and bandits that are harassing you.
