Soul Of The Sea Vessel Image

You were a seagoing vessel for decades, if not years. In that time, you faced down mighty storms, monsters of the deep, and those who wanted to sink you to the bottomless depths. Your first love is the crew that first set you afloat, and the last crew to have shared many travels with you was your last.

Whether you succumbed to the damages of times and had to be destroyed due to your old age, or if you sank with your crew after a dreadful storm or mighty naval fight, you owe your current life to your crew(s)' care, love, and -sometimes even worship- which led you to develop your own consciousness.

As such, once your previous life as a ship ended, you were able to be born anew, taking the race of the ship captain that cared for you the most, memories of your previous life still fresh in your mind.

Discuss the nature of the ship you were with your DM. Was it a merchant ship, a naval vessel, a ship of discovery, or a pirate ship? How famous (or infamous) is it?  Is your last crew still alive?

Skill Proficiencies: Skill Proficiencies: Nature, Survival
Tool Proficiencies: Carpenter's Tools, Vehicles (water)
Languages: You know a few words in the various languages your former crew talked, such as directions, sea and ship related vocabularies, swear words- you are however not fluent in most
Equipment: 50 feet of silk rope, a trinket from your previous life or from your previous captain, a lucky charm such as a rabbit foot or a small stone with a hole in the center , a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10gp

Feature: Old Memories

Thanks to your previous life, you might know a few useful names to secure free passage on a sailing ship for yourself and your adventuring companions. Because you're calling in a favor, you can't be certain of a schedule or route that will meet your every need. In return for your free passage, you and your companions are expected to assist the crew during the voyage.

If you were a pirate ship, you might remember the path to a secret island were your crew buried their treasure- your DM can make you roll to see how much of it you recall, and if you heard the crew mentions clews to where on the island the treasure is hidden.
