A life-changing event in your past left you distrustful of governments and groups that adhere to a strict hierarchical organization. You either keep to yourself, or gravitate to groups that stick to an egalitarian, loosely organized affiliation.
Specialty
What led to your disillusionment with government? You might have been a member of a noble family who became disgusted with social inequality. Or, you may have been a commoner your entire life and have had enough of class division and the privilege held by just a few. There is something in your past that you do not tell anyone that has to do with your anarchist feelings. If you were a noble, perhaps you changed your name and abandoned that society. Perhaps you were a wealthy landowner, landlord, merchant, etc., who found they could no longer stand making a living through the exploitation of others. Maybe you were radicalized at one point and feel shame for an act of violence you committed and are now trying to atone for it. Alternatively, if your alignment is evil, maybe you are still radicalized and wish to continue to promote and commit violent acts against governments and other authorities.
Work with your DM to determine the details of your secret and its impact on the campaign.
Suggested Characteristics
An anarchist believes in absolute freedom of the individual. For some this a radical disinterest in helping others, believing everyone is solely accountable for their station in life. Others believe in voluntary mutual aid, always coming to the aid of those less fortunate than themselves. Whether selfish or selfless, anarchists' disdain for hierarchy and systems of authority can often put them at odds with local governments.
