Abhorsen Image

One of the many in a long line of Abhorsens, it is your duty to make sure that dead things remain dead.  You are able to wield Charter magic like any Charter mage baptized in the Charter, but you also wield the Seven Bells of the Abhorsen, a strange mixture of Charter and Free magic.  As a servant of the Charter, you wander the land to undo the evils of necromancers, Free magic creatures, and the Greater Dead. You are able at will to travel between the realm of the living and the dead.

Skill Proficiencies: Proficient in Arcana and History  and two-weapon fighting style

Advantage when dealing with Undead

Tool Proficiencies: You are proficient in musical tools
Languages: Common
Equipment: Wields the Seven Bells of the Abhorsen and light weaponry.  Can use 1 attack per turn and a bonus action to ring one of the seven bells.  All bells have a 50 foot range except for Astarael (30).

  • Ranna- The Sleeper is the smallest of the Bells. This bell puts the dead to rest and the living to sleep. Nothing terrible happens if its ringer makes an error.  Enemy must make WIS saving throw of 15. If failed, the enemy sleeps for 3 rounds or until the ringer is hit.
  • Mosrael- The Waker calls the dead back to Life, with the compromise of throwing the wielder into Death. The Ringer must roll a D4 to determine how long he is trapped in death. D4
  • Kibeth- The Walker can give the Dead movement or force them through the gates of Death, but it can also take control of the wielder. Enemy must make Strength saving throw of 13.  If fails, the ringer can make them move anywhere within in their range of speed. If undead, the ringer can force them into death (Death saving Throws).
  • Dyrim- The Speaker gives the Dead a voice, or removes that of the living.  Ringer must succeed in CON throw of 16+. If below 10, Ringer will be confused and at disadvantage on all throws for next turn.
  • Belgaer- The Thinker can give a Dead spirit its memories, and give independent thought, but can just as easily erase either. Ringer must succeed in CON throw of 16+. If below 10, Ringer will be confused and at disadvantage on all throws for next turn.
  • Saraneth- The Binder is the favorite of necromancers, in that it forces obedience from the Dead. The enemy must succeed in CON saving throw of 16 to avoid being bound to the service of the ringer for the length of a D4. If failed, the ringer has complete control of the enemy's actions on their turns.
  • Astarael- The Sorrowful, when rung properly, sends all its auditors into death- the ringer included. All within a 30 foot sphere  will be cast into death.  Those allied with the Abhorsen will have advantage on death saving throws.
