Holy Warrior

You understand wealth, power, and privilege. You carry a noble title, and your family owns land, collects taxes, and wields significant political influence. Being a younger sibling or minor noble, you were sent to serve in the temple to a specific god or pantheon of gods. You act as a warrior of the faith, a path afforded to you because of your nobility.

 

Choose a god, a pantheon of gods, or some other quasi-divine being, and work with your DM to detail the nature of your religious service and noble rank. The Gods of the Multiverse section contains a sample pantheon, from the Forgotten Realms setting. Were you a younger sibling of a noble family, raised from childhood to assist the priests in defending the faith? Or are you a noble who suddenly experienced a call to serve your god in a different way?

Equipment: A set of fine clothes, a signet ring, a scroll of pedigree, a prayer item (book, wheel, or beads), 5 sticks of incense, vestments, and a purse containing 25 gp

Suggested Characteristics

Holy warriors are shaped by their experience in temples and by their noble birth. Their study of the history and tenets of their faith and their relationships to temples, shrines, or hierarchies affect their mannerisms and ideals. Their flaws might be some hidden hypocrisy or heretical idea, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme. They are expected to uphold their tenets of faith over their family ties.
