Maybe you were a child, or maybe you were older but lost and in need of guidance. Maybe you were saved by someone genuinely kind, or maybe they saw potential use in you and brought you in because of this. No matter their motivations, you were taken under their wing and found yourself intensely loyal to them. At least for some time. Now, you are separated from your rescuer, whether of your own choice or circumstance.

Choose a race for your "savior". Think about how long you have been with them. Do you try to emulate them in any way? Did they spoil you or treat you like a servant? Did they instill a religion in you that you now follow? Have you turned your back on them? Are you on the run after realizing their true motivations? Have they died and left you to fend for yourself?

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two skills that fit your position with your savior
Tool Proficiencies: Choose one tool and one vehicle
Languages: One of your choice
Equipment: An item connected to the person that saved you (i.e. a pendant, a tool, an insignia)

Feature: Family friend

You have access to connections through whoever took you in. If you search out significant people you can ask for a favor though, depending on the size, you will roll on a table of consequences to determine what the cost of this favor is. For example, do they notify your "savior"? Do they go back on the deal? Do they simply talk your ear off for hours?
