When interacting with creatures of all kinds, you have learned how to handle them respectfully, but with appropriate authority if necessary. As a result, creatures respect you in return. You are immune to being frightened by creatures of the beast type. Additionally, when you encounter a monstrosity or beast you have encountered before, you have advantage on Animal Handling checks to interact with it.
If you attempt to recall a piece of lore about a creature, but do not know that information, you know where and from whom you can obtain it. Usually, this information comes from another esteemed menagerist in the field, or else from a particular repository of knowledge, such as a library or university. Your DM might rule that the knowledge you seek is secreted away in an almost inaccessible place, or that it simply cannot be found. Unearthing the deepest secrets of the multiverse can require an adventure or even a whole campaign.
Suggested Characteristics
A menagerist will be marked by several characteristics which their experience and perspective has lent them: choose personality traits, ideals, bonds, flaws from the Folk Hero or Sage background.
