A general anesthetic is given, a decaying tooth is removed, and the patient awakes feeling anew. Oral medicine is uncommon in most lands, but whether it's an aching fang, a cracked tusk, or missing teeth from a bar fight, a practitioner of dentistry can always cure what ails you.  In another time and another place you would have been a barber-surgeon, trained in basic medical practices from giving stitches to replacing teeth to the occasional piercing or haircut.  You are trained in a dying profession, using good old fashioned skills and know how in a world that increasingly relies on magic.

Suggested Characteristics

As a practitioner of a dying art, many view your work as antiquated save either for those too poor to afford the magical replacements or those so wealthy that an artisans touch is considered a sign of status.  The common folk welcome you and with time and practice, the wealthy will seek you out for the novelty of a 'real haircut' or perhaps a jeweled tooth.

d7 Personality Trait
1 I am a purist who despises magical healing.
2 I always want to know how things work and what makes people tick.
3 I enjoy the company of those in my chair almost as much as I enjoy my chosen profession.

5 I am an artisan, I may not use magic but my inspired work is always personalized and in demand.
6 I don't like much what I do but it pays the bills. If you're looking for comfort while I'm yanking out your teeth, don't come looking for me.
7 I’m well known for my work, and I want to make sure everyone appreciates it. I’m always taken aback when people haven’t heard of me.

5 My healing was taken from me by a petty god. My life's work is to show them I don't need their magics to do good.
6 Meh, it's a living.
d6 Flaw
1 I love having a -nearly- restrained audience and tend to keep them in the chair longer than necessary as a captive audience.
2 I'm not particularly good at what I do- but I'm cheap.
3 No one must ever learn that this profession masks my true purpose.
4 There is nothing more delightful than hearing and spreading a little gossip and discord while doing my work.
