The Oseram are a human tribe. They're known as excellent metalworkers and craftsman, as well as brewers of fine ale. They are considered the most technologically advanced tribe in the region, likely due to their delving of the Metal World. They call The Claim home, an area west of Ban-Ur, and north of the Carja Sundom. Distinct from other tribes, they do not wear any form of face paint (although some have tattoos), scorn organized religion, and design things based on practicality rather than take inspiration from their surroundings. The Oseram value independence and freedom of expression. Many freely travel beyond their borders seeking riches, adventure, or a new life.
Oseram are a hardy stock and can be seen as loud and/or opportunistic to outsiders. Craftspeople, merchants, brewers, delvers, freebooters (mercenaries), that's the life for many Oseram. They're a proud bunch, using their knowledge of the Old Ones to their advantage. They forge their own alloys, which they prefer to use over raw machine parts, creating highly resilient armors and impressive weapons such as the Oseram Cannon. Other apparatuses, like sonic devices, safe doors, and primitive voice recorders are proof of their technological aptitude.
The tribe as a whole is made up of independent villages maintained by family clans, loosely united into a larger nation-state. However, the day-to-day lives of the Oseram are governed by their clan's elected ealdormen council. Oseram society is highly patriarchal, with women often being treated like property. The Oseram believe that the world functions as a large and intricately crafted mechanism, and all the forces of nature are accounted for by this mechanism. It's believed the Old Ones were once the caretakers of this "world-machine," and their civilization fell due to their failure to maintain it. Aside from this myth, the Oseram are largely irreligious, scorning the idea of religious entities/ideologies. They are generally critical of other tribal religions, especially when they interfere with what they consider to be common sense.
