The world is universally cruel and unfair. Maybe you have broken the law once or twice to get by or, perhaps, you are the scapegoat of an entity or organization that is much greater than yourself. Regardless, you’ve been on the run for some time and have garnered a knack for blending in and disappearing within society or the wilderness.
- Skill Proficiencies: You have proficiency in the deception and survival skills.
- Tool Proficiencies: You have proficiency with thieves tools and disguise kits.
- Languages: You know how to read, write, and speak another language of your choice that attributes to your relocation or isolated study.
- Equipment: Thieves tools, a disguise kit, a map showing the location of your hideout, a grappling hook, 4 small jars, and 30gp.
Your time in the past spent on the run has taught you to be prepared for anything and trust no one. With this experience, you have established a safe house within a major city or a remote location of your choice, located at least 50 miles from your starting location.
It is advised that you work with your DM to ensure the location of the safe house correlates with your backstory and setting. It is encouraged to also come up with a history for the location, along with its appearance, amenities, and additional features given the DM’s discretion.
The house has enough room for you and your party to sleep comfortably and a week’s rations worth of food. You and anyone you designate gain the following benefits when traveling to or from your safe house and while inhabiting its space:
- Checks made to track you have disadvantage.
- You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks made during watch while within the safe house.
- You can add a +10 to ability checks made when using disguise kits or forging documents.
- You can remove one additional point of exhaustion per long rest while residing within the safe house.
In addition, you also have access to one extra set of your class and background starting equipment as detailed in the character builder.
