Refugee Image

Refugees flee a war that has destroyed their homes and torn their lives apart. They look for a safe place to live while avoiding their conquerers. Family and friends might still be in the fallen lands, or in captivity, burdening their conscience. They have been forced to constantly adjust to new and unfamiliar surroundings while making their way through the world. Many may have some form of PTSD and have developed strange coping mechanisms to center themselves. Many people who know of their background feel sorry for them, and do their best to help them and make their lives easier, even if it is just a smile and wave.

Suggested Characteristics

Refugees are molded by the war surrounding them. War is traumatizing at the front line, but even more so when it takes place in their home, and directly affects their family. The unpredictable environment has shaped their ideals and mannerisms to be ready for adaptation at any moment to protect themselves, their family, and their friends. Their flaw might be a coping mechanism developed to deal with the stress of combat or a deep-seated paranoia of being found by the enemies who drove them out of their land.
