You were born into a semi-nomadic tribe which live most of their lives in an area that urban folk would describe as wilderness. Your people migrate seasonally from summer camp to winter camp, living from what can be foraged, hunted or cultivated, depending on the season. While some tribes are more reclusive than others, almost all of them trade with either merchants, towns and other wild folk.
You are social within your tribe, with tribes of other wild folk and even with some of the lesser races that inhabit the land around you. However, more urban communities tend to either put you on your guard or ill at ease. You are dedicated to well-being your tribe and family and are fiercely protective of the wild lands you call home.
- Skill Proficiencies:
- Choose two from among Animal Handling, Athletics, Nature and Survival.
- Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism Kit, and one musical instrument.
- Equipment: A herbalism kit or musical instrument, a small piece of jewelry that is distinct to your tribe, a hunting trap, a dagger, and a set of common clothes.
The wilderness is your home and you are comfortable dwelling in it. You can find a place to hide, rest, or recuperate when out in the wild. This place of rest is secure enough to conceal you from most natural threats. Threats that are supernatural, magical, or are actively seeking you out might do so with difficulty depending on the nature of the threat (as determined by the DM). However, this feature doesn’t shield or conceal you from scrying, mental probing, nor from threats that don’t necessarily require the five senses to find you.
Note: This feature is a variant of the Folk Hero feature.
Suggested Characteristics
Often considered rude and uncouth among urban folk, wild folk have little put little value in the niceties of life in the cities. Their ties their people and to to the natural world which the are connected to, are the most important values to most members of the wild folk.
