You were part of a Draconic Cult. Usually ran by Kobolds, you've either grown up in said cult, or convinced yourself that a particular Dragon was your master later on in life. The Dragon could have been a benevolent soul or corrupting influence. No matter what, you've decided to take a step away from the Dragon's hoard. How you've escaped is pure chance, luck, or simply snapping out of your stupor. However, you will never forget the influence that your Draconic leader had on you.
This background is intended for use by individuals who joined the service of an Evil dragon. Good dragons may have been good influences on the individual, and thus many of the characteristics and the feature of this archetype should be changed to fit this.
- Skill Proficiencies: Your fellow servants have taught you to hide and prosper. You gain proficiency in Stealth and Survival.
- Tool Proficiencies: You've constructed many traps in your life, and your fingers can still figure their way around a trap. You gain proficiency in one Tool of your choice: Thieves' Tools or Tinker's Tools.
- Languages: You learn Draconic, a result of your time spent talking with Dragons, Kobolds, and similar creatures.
- Equipment: Common clothes, the tool you became proficient in, one Hunting Trap, one small, low-value token that you took from the Hoard, one small and hidden pouch including 10 gp.
You've come far since your days in the cult. Select a group of people who rehabilitated you to your life outside of the Dragon cult. Common choices include villages or cities near the hoard, Druids who found you outside of the lair, or adventurers who decided to take you under their wing. You've rehabilitated under them, and those who know you will immediately trust and try to help you to the best of their ability. This will not cause people to act against their own will and will not cause them to overwhelm themselves, such as jumping in to fight an enemy. They are very much likely to vouch for you.
Suggested Characteristics
While all Servants walk out of a lair differently, there are likely a few things that they may cling to.
