Mountain folk reside in tight-knit clans that live in the hills and wild places of the land. They are accustomed to life in the wild and have developed some sense of fey magic from their time spent hills and hollows in which they live. There are mountain folk of nearly every known race, but they rarely, if ever, venture outside of the areas in which they grew up. Most commoners think mountain folk are a myth. Mountain folk are isolationists who are extremely paranoid of outsiders. They have their own means of communication through whistles and their own written code carved into surfaces within their domain. For most of the common world, the Mountain Folk are just a myth. Many disappearances have been attributed to these clans, though no hard evidence has ever been discovered. The Mountain Folk are said to be fey-touched and imbue the wine they drink with their magic. Very rarely do the Mountain Folk accept outsiders into their clan, and when they do the person is usually never heard from again...
