You caught the eye of a god/goddess and found yourself as the means through which they spread their words to the mortal world. Some will follow your divine proclamations and some will revile you. Regardless of the situations you find yourself in, the will of the gods is intrinsically entwined in your destiny.
- Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Religion
- Languages: Two of your choice
- Equipment: A bottle of black ink, a quill, a small knife, an item which appeared on your person when your god first spoke to you, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 GP
To determine the nature of gods proclamation, roll on the following table:
| d8 | Prophetic Message |
|---|---|
| 1 | Good news |
| 2 | Warning |
| 3 | Divine knowledge |
| 4 | Conquest |
| 5 | Liberty |
| 6 | Researcher |
| 7 | Glory |
| 8 | End times |
When you speak of the message or of your god, you manage to captivate the attention of those around you incredibly well. When speaking to crowds, you have advantage on all charisma checks. This draws the ire of those who would oppose you, however, and the authorities are hot on your trail. Those who find truth in your message will go to extreme lengths (up to the DM) to assist you in avoiding these authorities, and the authorities will be on constant watch for you. Starting at 15th level, you also gain access to the Divine Intervention ability, at a constant 5 percent. This ability stacks with any other divine intervention abilities.
Suggested Characteristics
Prophets are known for their loud and unapologetic preaching. Regardless of whether or not you agree with the message, prophets sugarcoat nothing and speak with truth.
