To take battle bound you must have a partner in battle from which you are inseparable and they must also take the battle bound background. Each choice offered by battle bound must be different than the choice your partner made.

You are constantly monitoring the position and situation that your battle bound partner is undergoing. This applies in day to day life as well as on the battlefield. Any perception, investigation, wisdom spell save involving your battle bound partner is at advantage.
