There are many types of taosits and sects but they generally have the same rankings which are as follows :
Qi Gathering - the base stage which usually focuses on gathering Qi (this stage does not contain martial arts)

Foundation - this is the first stage in the long path of cultivation (taoists at this stage are able to create pills that help cultivation speed)

Gold Core - this is the stage where taoists begin to practice martial arts (most sects allow access to low level martial arts to those who reached this level)

Soul Wandering - Taoists at this stage are able to communicate telepathically and use the soul wondering ability which allows one to disconnect one's spirit from the body for a short time)

Nascent Soul - taoists at this stage are able to access their meridians, which are points withing the body that allow for the qi to flow (taoists at the level are able to form a contract with low level beasts and are allowed accsess to medium level martial arts)

Ensoulment - taoists at this strage are able to understand all languages (as they are getting close to enlighment)

Nihility - taoists at this stage are able to form contracts with medium level beasts and are able to soul wonder without a time limit and use qi healing (they are also allowed accsess to high level martial arts and are able to form contacts with medium level beasts)

Ascension - this is the stage where people reach enlightment and acsend to a higher knowledge and understanding (taoists who are able to enter this stage go threw body reconstraction which gives them +2AC)

Half Immortal - it is not common for a taoist to reach this stage as it requires long years of meditating and immense qi usually high ranking clan leaders and elders are at this stage (taoists who enter this level have their lifespans increased by 200 years and are able to form contacts with high level beasts)

Profound Immortal - it is normal for large sects to have atlest 1 or 2 those taoists (taoists who reach this stage are allowed accsess to master level martial arts and are able to hide their presence at will thus being able to fake their stage)

Golden Immortal - this is usually the rank of high ranking sect leaders (those at this rank have accsess to creation level martial arts, those artial arts who are able to shape the land and small rivers, they are also able to create contracts whith supreme level beasts).

Immortal Venerable - taoists at this stage are able to fly and use outside qi ( being able to create small bullets and objects with qi, the object lasts for as long you continue to feed it qi)

Immortal King - this is a rare stage that is only reached upon meditating for hundreds of years they are able to use telekinesis (taoists at this stage have accses to celestial level martial arts)

Immortal Emperor - the immortal empror is the rank of sect leaders who have mastered their cultivation to immense levels (they are able to form contracts with celestial level beasts such as draogns)

Half God - only in the distant past have there benn stories of taoists who have reached this stage they are able to use telekinesis to the highest dagree even lifting people up into the air  (taoists at this stage are also able to use teleportaion for short distances up to 100ft)

1. God Realm - this is the highest realm only reached in legends (taoists in this stage are able to create all they desire (such as races object mountains etc)

stage 7 - Smith’s tools

Languages: the taoist knows the common language and 1 extra language

when they reach ensoulment they are able to speak all languages (6th stage)
