Either through your position or through the people you have been given power to represent and lead. You are an expert in statescraft and speechcraft. You know the desires of your people, the promises you have made to them, and the responsibilty you have to them... Well, at least so it would seem, depending on ones political leaning. You know what people want and you deliver, or rather, you promise to deliver. Common sense should steer people away from things that sound too good to be true, but common sense seems to be in short supply when you’re around.

Feature: Political office

As an established and respected member of a political party, you can rely on certain benefits that membership provides. Your fellow parrty members will provide you with lodging and food if necessary, and pay for your funeral if needed. In some cities and towns, a government offers a central place to meet other political figures, which can be a good place to meet potential patrons, allies, or political enemies.

If you are accused of a crime, your party will support you if a good case can be made for your innocence or the crime is justifiable. You can also gain access to powerful political figures through the political party, if you are a member in good standing. Such connections might require the donation of money or magic items to the party coffers.

Suggested Characteristics

Politicans are characters who hold some form of power in their respective government. They reflect what people want to see, what they want to believe, and how they see the world. But their true selves are sometimes plagued by an uneasy conscience, greed, a lust for power, or trust issues. Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.
