Although you may not be a druid yourself, you have very close ties to a druidic circle, ties so close that they shape your outlook on life. Maybe someone you love or loved was a druid, or after saving a member of the circle, you were given honorary membership. Whatever your ties to the circle are, they grant you unique insights and skills that help when out in the wider world. You have a greater appreciation for nature, as well as a much healthier respect for the danger she can pose.
- Skill Proficiencies: Nature, and your choice of Perception or Survival
- Tool Proficiencies: Healer's Kit or Poisoner's Kit
- Languages: Druidic
- Equipment: A rare, preserved leaf, a healer's kit or poisoner's kit, a wooden staff, and either a dagger or handaxe
The druidic order you immersed yourself in may have been dedicated to a specific circle. You can use the table below to randomly determine what circle that was, or pick one you prefer. Alternatively, you can work with your DM to make a circle unique to your characters background.
| d8 | Druidic Purpose |
|---|---|
| 1 | Dreams |
| 2 | Spores |
| 3 | Stars |
| 4 | The Land |
| 5 | The Moon |
| 6 | The Shepherd |
| 7 | Wildfire |
| 8 | No circle or an unknown one |
While you lack the mystical connection to nature that druids have, you do possess some of their almost supernatural insight and understanding of the natural world. This takes the form of 'wodespeech', the almost magical ability to read the landscape for threats and hazards, as if the trees, grass, and stone speak to you. Whenever you encounter an area of natural terrain for the first time, such as a forest, tundra, or swamp, you may spend ten minutes 'reading' the landscape. At the end of this time, you learn if the terrain is hazardous, as well as a basic knowledge of any threats that may lie within. For example, your DM might tell you that you sense the presence of an aberration, or that it feels like a dragon of some kind makes their lair in the region.
Spell List
If you have a spellcasting class, the spells from the Druidic Emissary Spells table are added to the spell list of that class. (If you are a multiclass character with multiple spell lists, these spells are added to all of them.)

Spells cast from this list tend to take on a more nature infused appearance; shows of leaves, the aroma of flowers, or the appearance of bark or stone. If you use a spellcasting focus, it might likewise take on a more earthy form; a wand of rough wood, a holy symbol wrapped in ivy, or an orb held aloft by vines.
The spells Druidcraft and [spel]Shillelagh[/spell] are quintessential examples of druidic magic.
Suggested Characteristics
Druidic Emissaries tend to share similar outlooks to druids and druidic circles, valuing nature above almost all things and seeing civilisation as a nuisance at best and a threat at worst. Some emissaries seek to bridge the divide between the natural and civilised worlds, while others work to keep a safe distance between the two, avoiding conflict.
