You were trained to use the revolutionary technology that is a Voidtrain. In that time, you traveled across the Astral Sea, various planes, and everything in between. Your first love is the everchanging expanse of the Astral Sea.
Discuss the nature of your time spent on the Voidtrain you previously sailed with your Dungeon Master. Was it a peaceful voyage among the stars, or did you encounter something unexplainable?
What were your duties on board — conductor, captain, navigator, cook, or some other position? Who was the captain? Did you leave your job on good terms with the Company, or on the run?
- Skill Proficiencies: Perception, Religion
- Tool Proficiencies: Navigator’s tools, vehicles (land)
- Equipment: A belaying pin (club), 50 feet of silk rope, a lucky charm such as a rabbit foot or a small stone with a hole in the center (or you may roll for a random trinket on the Trinkets Table in chapter 5), a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp
Your time spent in the Astral Sea was not without its consequences. The radiation that permeates throughout the void has altered your mind, in a way you can barely understand. While in the Astral Sea, your wisdom score increases by 2. While not on the Astral Sea, your wisdom score decreases by 2.
Suggested Characteristics
Voidtrain workers can be a rough lot, but the responsibilities of life on a Voidtrain makes them generally reliable as well. Life in the abyss shapes their outlook and forms their most important attachments.
