As you adventure the worlds, you frequently come across people in need of aid, and you have a habit of involving yourself in local affairs. As you render aid to the inhabitants of a settlement, the people will begin to trust and respect you, will extend you every courtesy, and do their utmost to help you. Unless you have shown yourself to be a danger to them, they will even take up arms to fight alongside you, should you find yourself facing an enemy alone. As your legend grows, the DM may even determine that your renown proceeds you, granting you a reputation in places you’ve yet to visit.

As you adventure the worlds, your actions frequently upset the people around you, and you have a habit of pissing off the local populous. If you have unpleasant interactions with the inhabitants of a settlement, the people will begin to form opinions of you, will treat you differently, and may seek to hider your efforts. If you have shown yourself to be a physical danger to them, they will even take up arms to fight against you, and may join in battles to aid your attackers. As your notoriety grows, the DM may even determine that your infamy proceeds you, granting you a reputation in places you’ve yet to visit.
