Failed Dragon Cultist

You were once a cultist within the Cult of the Dragon. However, of late the goals and ideology of the cult seem to have taken a huge shift under a new leadership. Now the upper hierarchy is covertly targeting those of the old faith. You were tasked with more and more sinister duties, such that even you could not agree with morally. Finally being instructed to carry out a hit on a colleague and his family who refused to change to the new way of thinking. You could do not carry out those orders and have decided to get out before someone orders a hit on you and your loved ones.

Skill Proficiencies: Deception, and your choice of Arcana or Religion.

Tool Proficiencies: Choose 1 from: Alchemist's Supplies, Disguise Kit, Forgery Kit, Poisoner's Kit, or Thieves' Tools.

Languages: Draconic.

Equipment: A tattoo signifying membership in the cult, a book of heretical or blasphemous truths, 5 sticks of incense, vestments or robes of occult significance, sacrificial dagger, a set of common clothes, and a belt pouch containing 10 gp.

A rejection of socially-accepted belief or behavior, and adherence to strict and potentially isolating set of rules, defines the life of the cultist. Their expectation of persecution shapes their interactions, even with people who do not know about their cult connections. Their belief in their secret, superior understanding can be hard for them to conceal.
