Whether by accident or design you were taken in by the Owl Bows, an organization that seeks to do good, even if it must work outside the law to do so. Secretly in league with the crown the Owl Bows keep an ear to the ground in search of corruption in the empire. Their favorite prizes are those corrupt members of nobility that believe themselves above the law. Started as a way to fight corruption and to free those who were illegally sold to slavery they have grown to be a force of good with the backing of the crown itself.

You know how to get messages to and from your contact, even over great distances; specifically, you know the local messengers, corrupt caravan masters, and seedy sailors who can deliver messages for you.

Owl Bows work outside the law to protect the people. They often work to smuggle those who were stolen or who have run afoul of dangerous people to safety, or infiltrate higher society to root out corruption, in exchange for whatever profits or treasures they may find in their pursuits.
