The dragonborn of Tymanther put the clan before all else, even their own name. For the majority of your life, you have done the same, but something has changed. Perhaps you committed some crime or simply performed some dishonorable act. Perhaps you simply decided to leave your clan for philosophical reasons. Whatever the cause, you are Clanless, forbidden from using your former clan's name or wearing your clan piercings. Do you seek redemption, or are you glad to be rid of your clan identity?
- Skill Proficiencies: You gain proficiency with the Intimidation and Survival skills. Dragonborn have a hard time trusting their Clanless kin, and while some look on you with contempt, still others may do so with fear. In your time as an exile, you have had to learn survival skills to shore up the differences in the absence of your clan's support. You no longer serve the clan, and so it no longer serves you.
- Tool Proficiencies: You gain proficiency in one instrument as well as one set of artisan tools.
- Languages: Clanless dragonborn tend to associate with the other races of Faerûn more than their kin. As such, you have more easily integrated with other cultures. Choose one language from the list of standard languages.
- Equipment: As Clanless, you retain some reminders of your former life. You gain one trinket from the trinkets table, a set of common clothes, the instrument and tools you are proficient in from this background, and a small pouch of ten gold.
Since your exile, you have had to learn to work on your own more often than not. A number of times per day equal to your proficiency modifier, you may tread an ability check (not an attack roll) as though you are the beneficiary of the Help action. You regain uses of this feature after a long rest. While you are able to use this feature, you may not benefit from the Help action from another character unless you forego the remaining uses of this feature that day.

Most any will do, though I recommend pulling from Soldier, Outlander, and Folk Hero
