Life as a Mercenary is tough, but that toughness rubs off on any who choose this lifestyle. They often excel in battle and are regarded as scoundrels, even if many of them follow the laws of the land, but some are truly unprecedented when it comes to their skill, in battle, out of battle, even on the diplomatic battlefield.
These skilled warriors, healers, bards, clerics and even rogues have often found their place, their home, friends or even loved ones, with the Blackshield Mercenary Company who, wage wars, stage coups, execute rescue missions and occasionally... guard some caravans. But this is the life many love as it is a free life.

During your time in the Blackshield Mercenary Company, you showed great martial and tactical prowess. You quickly rose to the rank of Captain, and even commanded some troops under the Companies Flag. Unfortunately, you weren't the only one who excelled and was promoted, the difference though was that the other Mercenary to be promoted along with you, was far too ambitious and sold out the Company to a rival, who slaughtered the rest of the Company. Leaving only you.

During your time in the Mercenary Company you gained a position of power, specifically Captain, and you commanded some troops under the Companies Flag, gaining the respect of your peers and your troops. You followed orders and gave them on many campaigns and operations. Success after success, until one fateful day, when a fellow Captain sold the Company out to a rival for a high ranking position.
You watched in horror as friends and your troops were slaughtered like cattle. Unfortunately for you they didn't find you, frozen from the shock, and now you drink to forget and forget, to try and move on.
