Maybe you were an outcast from society, perhaps due to a curse, your motives, or your bloodline. You might have been abducted by illithids, but something inhibited complete ceremorphosis. Whatever the case, you were raised by some variety of aberration, be it a colony of mind flayers or a group of star spawn. Your time spent with such creatures has made you well versed in the nature of the beings with which you matured alongside, although others may see you as an outsider or an evil servant of a strange power.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two proficiencies from the following: Arcana, Deception, Insight, and Stealth.
- Tool Proficiencies: You gain proficiency with the Disguise Kit.
- Languages: You know one language based on the species you were raised by: Deep Speech (Illithids and Star Spawn), Slaad (Slaadi), or Daelkyr (Daelkyr).
- Equipment: You get a Disguise Kit, a trinket of value (rolled on the Gothic Trinkets table), and a pouch containing 10gp.
There are but a few aberrant races even somewhat capable of raising a child, and almost all are unlikely to do so. Although it may not have been of your choice, you were fostered by a particular type of aberration, which may influence your morals and goals. Choose what sort of creature raised you, or roll on the table below.

Because of the time you have spent with a given species, you are well versed in the behavior and ideals of creatures of said species. You have advantage on Charisma checks made on individuals of the race chosen as your Eldritch Origin.
Suggested Characteristics
Some aberrant kin are loyal to their adopted family will protect them at all costs, while others may be drawn to explore, either for their own benefit or for those who raised them. Although some choose to defy the beliefs held by their kin, it is very likely that they will adopt some if not all of the traits of the species they grew up with. Model your characteristics either after your chosen Eldritch Origin or in defiance of those traits.
